National Truck Driver Appreciation Week (NTDAW), from September 15-21, 2024, celebrates the hardworking men and women who are the lifeblood of America’s transportation system. Truck drivers move over 72% of the nation’s freight, delivering essential goods that keep the economy thriving. From food and medicine to building materials and fuel, truck drivers ensure that everything we need arrives safely and on time.

This week is an opportunity for the public and businesses to show appreciation for their dedication, resilience, and sacrifices. Truck drivers often face long hours, time away from family, unpredictable weather, and tight deadlines. Despite these challenges, they continue to ensure that supply chains remain functional, especially in times of crisis.

During NTDAW 2024, many companies and organizations will host appreciation events, offer special deals at truck stops, and provide health screenings for drivers. Social media will also be abuzz with thank-you messages and stories highlighting the vital role truck drivers play in our daily lives.

Beyond the celebrations, NTDAW is also a time to raise awareness about the challenges facing the trucking industry, such as driver shortages, rising fuel costs, and the importance of road safety. It’s a moment to reflect on how much truck drivers contribute and to encourage ongoing support for these unsung heroes of the road.

This is a time to be thankful and salute our truck drivers who provide us everyday goods and services.
